Cross Signs is located at 12950 58th St. N. Clearwater Fl 33760. I was born and raised in upstate NY. I grew up in the town of Morrisville, about 30 miles east of Syracuse. I graduated high school in 1976, moved to Florida about 1978 or 79, and held down a few different jobs for several years.

A friend of mine was going around and lettering with a brush, and OneShot paint new and used car windshields with things like the year of the car. “83” “Extra Clean” “Seats Six” “Better Than New” And was making really good money at it. So, he encouraged me into it. And in 1985, I started. And in a few short years, I was able to buy a car, a house, and even a brand-new pickup.

All the dealerships I visited needed signs for their parts department or service dept. And they asked me if I could make them. I had another friend who was a second-generation sign writer from England. And he became my mentor and taught me the proper way of sign painting.

Sign work evolved out of that. I stopped lettering windshields in 1991. I had enough sign work to keep busy.

A couple of hobbies that I have are antique radios. I like them and tend to collect them. So far, I have eight. And I’m learning how to repair them. My other hobby is woodworking. I enjoy building furniture and gadgets.
